Some people are AMAZING!

Check out this quilt.
All 20 Sunbonnet Sue blocks.
Now look close at them.
The are all cross stitch.
Yes, some people are amazing and make some really AMAZING quilts.
This fun log cabin quilt is so fun, it's made using a jelly roll.
Today, Whitnee came over and worked on a new tutorial.
These are the materials that she is using.
I'm so excited for this one, maybe because it's from Make Life and I love Make Life!
P.S. Make Life materials are on sale this week only!

Something that makes me sad.

I love reading your comments, they are so motivating, kind and many are informative. However, many of you ask questions or even just leave comments that I am unable to respond to because you haven't left your e-mail address. A few months back Amy posted this post. If you are one of these that I can't, or maybe have never gotten a response back to one of your comments then you should check out Amy's post and fix things.

Thanks!

P.S. It's almost May and we've got snow sticking here in Utah. :( UG. I was getting so excited to go outside!
Also, since it's snowing here, today's daily deal is 12 Days of Christmas Layer Cake by Kate Spain.

What you may not know about me.

Back in my former life.....
The pre-quilting crazy life.
I worked a "normal" job.
I commuted to work.
I was done @ 5 every day and had an hour for lunch.
I had holidays, weekends and evenings off.
Man, maybe I should have kept the "normal" life.
So what did I do?
I was a dental assistant, I did this for just over 6 years.
I truly enjoyed working in the dental field and absolutely loved all of my coworkers. I made some of my best friends working there.
Well anyways, one of the ladies that I worked with made this darling quilt for her daughters high school graduation.
At the bottom you can see that she embroidered all of the things that she was involved in during high school. She has been one busy girl!
After I finished quilting I spent a little bit of time working on a new Moda Bake Shop tutorial!
YAY!
This time I'm using a Half Moon Charm Pack.
May 7th is the big day!
AND we will have kits available for this tutorial!
YAY!
P.S. Half Moon materials are on sale today only @ Piece N Quilt, you may want to stock up.

I do love scrappy quilts!

This fun quilt was made by one of my customers.
The nine patches are really little, 1" finished squares.
She made the whole quilt from scraps, her daughters clothes and other scraps.
The back.
Don't you just love scrappy quilts?
This quilt, do you recognize it?
My sweet customer made it from our 9 Birdie Baby tutorial!
And, I got to quilt it for her.

Self Binding Receiving Blankets

Today Whitnee came over and needed to whip something out quick for a baby shower tomorrow.
They are super fast, and one of my favorite gifts to give to new mothers.
The one on the left is made from Attitude Girls materials.
The one on the right is made from Frolic materials.
They are for a baby boy.

Have you made one of these Self Binding Receiving Blankets?

It's Quiet.

It's quiet in the house and I'm all done with my work for the day.
It must be some sort of miracle or something.
It's never quiet like this and I'm never caught up, it seems like.
So, I'm enjoying it.
I'm listening to the water at the lake, the birds outside the window and I've got my feet up and I'm catching up on reading blogs!
Don't you just love spring!?
These are a few recent finishes.
This is a quilt that I quilted for one of my customers.
She is super creative.
She took stars & hearts from a Buggy Barn pattern and then added blocks to make it a quilt for her sons' wedding.
I did a bunch of custom quilting and I love how it turned out.
You can see some more pictures of the border here.

I think this circle quilt is so much fun.
It's a free pattern from Moda.
I really like the Riley Blake fabrics that she made it with.
And, I got to machine quilt it for her.

P.S. I did get the quilt that we re-made all finished, right now, as I type this Kathleen is working her magic on the binding and then I'll add a label!
Wahoo!

You're kidding.........right?

Remember back here when I told you that Kathleen & I were working on a design challenge quilt for HMQS?
Well, last week I finished quilting the quilt, got it ready to bind when Kathleen decided that she didn't love the quilt. So........ she decided that we should remake the quilt. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
So all day Friday and part of Sunday were spend remaking the quilt. I will admit that I like it better now and I can't wait to share pictures of the remade quilt. Now I'm just going to have a hard time letting it get sold!

Have you ever made a quilt, got it completely quilted and ready for binding then decided you didn't love it so you remade it?
Please tell me we're not the only crazy ones!

Machine quilting & my weekend.

Do you remember last year when I was able to share my quilts at this quilt retreat?
Well, as a part of that same retreat the ladies made a mystery quilt. This week I was able to one of the quilts that my customer made at that reatreat. I love how it turned out.
This quilt is on my machine right now. I can't wait to get it finished, my customer asked me to do custom quilting, feathers and flowers in the borders. This is a sneak peak of the border. It's turning out so cute!
I quilted this cute Frolic quilt for another customer.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
As I mentioned back here, my husband has been training for quite some time now to run a marathon. Saturday was the big day. He ran a complete marathon and I am so proud of him.
In this picture is my sister Krachel. She also ran in the same race but she ran the half marathon. I am so impressed by her. Maybe they have motivated me to start runing......maybe. :)

A First

Last night I attended the Salt Lake Modern Quilt guild for the first time.
 The Modern Quilt Guild
It was really fun. There are some AMAZINGLY talented ladies in that group.
I was so impressed by all of the little hexigons that they are making by hand.
The modern quilts.
I got to meet new friends and some customers.
I can't wait for the next meeting!

Some other fun things going on in blog land today.
Sew & Tell Fridays with Amy, this is always a great way to find some new blogs and see others' fun finishes.

Head on over to Sew What to see what tutorial Whitnee & I would like to be making right now!

There's more to Verna!

Thank you for all of your sweet comments about the Verna's Bedspread tutorial.
The only bad thing about the quilt is the fact that it's on Whitnee's bed and not mine.
Oh, well, I'll just have to go visit her.....a lot!
So, the new bedroom decor wouldn't have been complete without new pillowcases.
So crafty Kathleen whipped out this idea for these darling pillowcases.
Thursday we will have the complete Verna's Pillowcases tutorial.

Thanks again for all of your sweet comments! I can't believe how sweet you all are.
