Baking

Today I'm stuck at home. I do have a quilt that I should be piecing but after piecing a 1,500 piece quilt top that measures 100"x100" yesterday (yes, we're a little crazy) I'm taking a little break from sewing.. Which isn't a bad thing... However, after cleaning the house spotless on Friday night I don't have much to do here, so I decided to bake, and if you know me well you know that I'm not much of a baker.
So, first thing I made today was Chex Muddy Buddies. These are one of our favorite treats and are so simple to make. I used the recipe from the side of the Rice Chex box but there is the same recipe here.
After I made the Muddy Buddies I was still feeling ambitious. So I decided to make home-made bread. I've never actually made home-made bread so I really have no idea what I'm doing.
I googled white bread recipes and found this Traditional White Bread Recipe, it seems pretty straight forward and it has good reviews so I'm giving it a shot.
I'm just about ready to put it in the oven and can't wait to taste it! I'll have to tell you later how it turned out.

a little update..
I just pulled the bread out of the oven, when it was still hot I rubbed butter all over the top, then I sliced myself a piece and added a little butter to that and it's amazing! I may be making more bread in my future! :)

Hope you're all having a great weekend! :)

  4. Now that's a beautiful loaf of bread!!! Nothing like the smell of fresh bread coming out of your own oven. MMMMMMM! You deserve that after a 1,500 piece quilt!
