My baby boy!

Earlier this week I shared this little snap shot on facebook of my baby boy on a quilt I made, there were several of you who were loving the little quilt so I thought I'd share it here.

I actually made this fun quilt back in 2009, actually I made two of them one is 48"x48" the other 58"x58", I gave the smaller one away and kept the larger one. I had no plans at that time of having a baby any time soon, but I really wanted to make a baby boy quilt. So from one layer cake and one jelly roll I put together two baby quilts. Just this week I decided it was time to get it out and put it to some good use! I love that I made the quilt bigger so my little man can use it for years to come.
When I made the quilt I actually created a free tutorial. You can check it out here.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. I can attest, this is a great tutorial, I made 2 quilts also from the layer cake and jelly roll. I skipped the appliqué but added red corner stones and had 2 baby gifts ready to go. So when I have a weekend with no plans I've already got another cute layer cake in mind to make them again!
