Hey there! Today is day 24 in our 30 Days of Sewing Quilt Blocks! Just six more blocks to go! Crazy how fast this has gone by. From the feedback that I've received about this I'm about 99% sure I'm going to continue this on, after the 30 days but maybe just once or twice a week. I'm just trying to figure out what will work best. YAY!
Today's quilt block is;
Constellation
Cutting:
(This block will finish at 12"x12" square.)
White fabric - 6 - 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares
(draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of these)
Teal fabric - 4 - 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares
(draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of these)
Gray fabric - 2 - 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares
Plum fabric - 4 - 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares
Sewing:

Stitch 1/4" on both sides of the draw line.
Cut on the draw line.

That's it!
Now, to put it together in a quilt top.
You will need to make 64, 12" blocks and sew them in eight rows of eight blocks.
You will need the following fabrics:
Teal - 3 1/8 yards
Plum - 3 1/8 yards
Gray - 1 5/8 yards
White - 4 5/8 yards
And here is the alternate color-way! So fun to see it in a different color-way.
Hope you all enjoy! I'll be back tomorrow with another quilt block, click here to see all of the blocks so far.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these. I was desperate to do these with you, but this is back to school time here in Australia & what I call 'new year crazies'.
Will you please keep these somewhere accessible on your blog? I need to practice my piecing and I think this is a great way to go about it.
Alternatively, are they in printer friendly versions??
Thanks again
Debra

ReplyDeleteIs there a way to print the pattern?
ReplyDeleteOn my computer I was able to right click and select the part I wanted to print, then chose print selection.
