Bow Ties for Days - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

My cute friend, Melissa from The Polka Dot Chair has created an other adorable quilt pattern featuring her fabric line, Derby Style. 

The quilt is adorable and big enough that it will eventually go on her daughters bed. 

Melissa sent me this quilt and told me I could custom machine quilt it however I wanted. Because the prints to have the derby feel I decided to quilt cables in the border, I thought it kept with the look, but didn't take away from the cute bow ties.

In all of the quilt background I machine quilted Swirly Feathers, in my new book, Next Steps in Machine Quilting I teach step-by-step how to quilt these.

In each of the bow ties I quilted a swirl in the center and then in each of the bow ties I quilted Point to Point Rays, I teach step-by-step how to quilt these rays in my new book, Next Steps in Machine Quilting.
