My friends over at Fat Quarter Shop have teamed up with Sherri Falls of This & That Pattern Company and created this darling new Holiday Wishes book. The book is darling and features 12 quilts for a homemade holiday.
Like all of the books that the team over at Fat Quarter Shop produces the directions are fabulous including full color diagrams.
When I received my copy of this book I flipped through it and immediately knew that I wanted to make this Deck the Halls Mini quilt. I even picked out some darling blue fabrics by Cotton & Steel. I love these fabrics and I know they'll make an adorable mini quilt.
However, let's be real honest here. Sometimes the best plans don't always go as planned. Over the past several months I've been busy. I've had some amazing opportunities come up, including some online classes, teaching and other publications. With summertime and my active kids I have only been able to turn my conventional sewing machine on two times since April. It breaks my heart because I love piecing, but I have really had to figure out what needs to be done first and sadly sewing for fun has fallen to the bottom of the list.
I still have big plans to sew this little quilt, and I'm really hopeful that once school starts and things calm down a bit I'll be able to get back to piecing.
