You are doing four layers at once and you are squaring up a much smaller area so you don't have to struggle nearly as much. But I try and keep the borders tight so no problem for the long arm quilting lady I use! Went with what my tutor said and loosely lay the fabric down and then attached after cutting and it was a nightmare and I ended up with pleats in the border as the quilter could not get it straight!
