So You Think You're Crafty

Whitnee and I have made it past another week on So You Think You're Crafty. This week the theme was Edible. So we made Edible Topiaries. They are made from Lettuce, grapes, strawberries, blueberries and tomatoes. After we made them we used them for a birthday party for Kathleen. They made a perfect addition to our party!
They were also delicious! I can't wait to have another party to make them again!
This week the theme is Ethnic. I'm really excited for Monday when we get to see what everyone has made!

This is my siggy block!
Hope everyone  has fun plans for the weekend.
We are going to go to a parade and then the local rodeo.

Quilting with lofty batting.

Thank you all for your sweet comments about the quilt that I shared yesterday. My sweet customer Bev loved it too! She said she is going to have a hard time giving it away!
So you all know that I love Quilters Dream Blend Batting. It's just my favorite.
Well, every once in a while I'll have a customer ask me to quilt with a lofty batting and I am always so pleased with the outcome.
This is the back of a quilt that I recently quilted using a lofty batting. I think the dimension is pretty cool looking!
I also quilted this quilt this week, more of a traditional quilt but I think it turned out really pretty too!
Susan was worried about the lighter blocks in the center being too plain. So I used a thread with a little bit of contrast and quilted away. I think that it really helped those blocks.
Don't forget! Most of our fabrics have been reduced to just $6.00 per yard! Get them while they last!

Transforming a Baby Quilt

My sweet customer Bev brought me this baby quilt.
She really wanted the quilting to give the simple quilt some detail.
So........
First I added the babies initials. Using our starch applique technique.
Then I headed to the quilting machine. I did all custom quilting.
I think the back, with the minky turned out really cute too!
What do you think?

P.S. For those of you that joined me over @ Facebook and Twitter last night I had a lot of fun chatting with you. I'm trying to figure out a date when we can do it again! Does daytime or evenings work best for you?
