I WON!

My LQS had a fun Christmas quilt show. They had many different Christmas quilts from several local ladies displayed. I had so much for going over there and viewing all of the quilts. Then when I went to pick my quilt up I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I had won the viewers choice award! Thank you to every one that voted for my quilt.
I also noticed that one of the quilts that I quilted won second place! Congratulations MaryAnn!
You can get the complete tutorial here. The Snuggle Snowmen quilt is made using Authentic materials.

We entered two quilts in the Wasatch County fair home arts category this year and we won a couple of ribbons:) We won a blue ribbon for our quilt "Daisies and Lattice." Our quilt "Strut Your Stuff" won a big ribbon for "Judges Choice." Yes, that is Natalia and her daughter Chesney, she just had to be held during the pictures!

Quilt Show

Tonight I had the opportunity to teach a little demo on pre-cut fabrics, my favorite!!! While there I decided to stay and go to the award show at a quilt show in Midway, UT. There are some amazing quilts there! WOW, I can't believe how talented some people are. There were several winners and guess what!
OUR QUILT, STRUT YOUR STUFF, WON BEST OF SHOW!!!
My mom, Kathleen and I made this quilt earlier this year from Jelly Rolls and it won! What an honor! If you happen to be in the Midway area this weekend don't miss this fabulous show!

This little picture is courtesy of Rachel. Shown from left to right are some of the winners Patsy Shelton, Natalia Bonner, Brenda Wilcox and Michelle Murdock.
There are about 140 quilts and it's definitely worth seeing.

Wasatch County Fair

This week is one of my favorite weeks of the year. THE FAIR! I have always looked forward to this week and it's already here again. My mom & Whitnee entered a few quilts in the quilt show and they got blue ribbons on all of them! Whitnee made this one to match her new house, she started with a pattern called Zig Zag Shangri La (which you can buy on our website) and changed the borders and made it bigger to fit on her bed. She did a really good job! I was really impressed because the pattern says it's an advanced quilt and she's only made a few quilts before! Good job Whit! My mom was being really creative and decided to make this "Pumpkin Patch" quilt. She designed the pattern and pieced it. I quilted it and helped with the binding. It was fun to learn how to do the scalloped borders. Whitnee had made designed this pattern and pieced this quilt for Lexie. I think she did a really good job! Last but not least this was my mom's round robin 2008 for the Heber Valley Quilt Guild. She did the center block, then Kazuko King did the first border, Brenda Wilcox did the windmill border and Michelle Murdock did the last border. I think it turned out so cute!
Good job girls, now onto our "Winter Strips"! I am so excited for this project:)

Two Quilting Awards This Month:)

This month I entered my quilt "Daisies & Lattice" in two different quilt shows. The first one was at the Zermatt Resort in Midway Utah, there were about three hundred quilts in the show. The only award that was to be given out was the Viewers Choice Award. Everyone that visited the show was asked to vote on their favorite quilt. Guess what I won, The Viewers Choice Award! This weekend is Steele Days in American Fork, Utah. I decided to enter this same quilt in this show. I am so excited because when I walked in it is displayed right in the front and it won Best of Division for Custom Quilts! Yay! It makes me feel so good that all of my hard work is paying off:)
