Snowflakes are Falling

Denise recently piecing this adorable version of our Moda Bake Shop Quilt, Snowflakes are Falling. I love this quilt.
Even though it's March and many of you are already enjoying spring, we still are getting snow days here in the Utah mountains. :)
When Denise and her mother Sherry brought me this quilt to custom machine quilt she told me that she loves snowflakes, so quilt a lot of them in the quilt, so I did. I hid snowflakes in the quilting in the borders and then each block also has a snowflake in the center.
I think it turned out pretty dang cute!
You can check out this pattern free over on Moda Bake Shop.

Have a happy St. Patricks Day everyone!

Easter Egg Table Mats ~ Sweet Celebrations

I love decorating for holidays! Easter is always a fun holiday to decorate for, maybe because the fresh, end of winter feeling it always is exciting for me!

I am so honored to share today my Easter Egg Table Mats.
I designed these fun table mats for the new Moda Bake Shop book, Sweet Celebrations. The book is so much fun and so inspiring!
In the book there are patterns for 8 different table mats that can be used individually or tied together and used as a cute table runner! Make one or two or make all eight!
I just pulled mine out and they'll be displayed from now until Easter!

I have signed copies of Sweet Celebrations available here, or it's also available at Fat Quarter Shop, Amazon or visit your local quilt shop!

Sweet Celebrations ~ Reunion Quilt

I'm so excited to share another little peek into the new Moda Bake Shop book, Sweet Celebrations with the Moda Bake Shop Chefs

This is my fun Reunion quilt. When I designed this quilt I designed it with my husbands family in mind, he comes from a very large family, he has 8 siblings and there are currently 32 grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren. :)
Yes, family parties are quite chaotic!
(nope, that's not any of us in the picture, but they sure are cute!)

My idea with this quilt is that some day I will have each person in the family sign one of the white "signature" spots on the quilt and then it'll become a gift for my in-laws, shh, don't tell them. :)
The quilt is a pretty simple to make, made from charm packs, it'd be super cute in any color scheme, and  the applique is done by machine. But if you're patient you could do it by hand.

I have a few signed copies of Sweet Celebrations available here.

Bloggers Quilt Festival ~ Fall 2012

Here I am squeaking in right before the deadline.
No worries, I made it!

2012 has been quite a year for me... probably one of my very most memorable years... e.v.e.r.

For a couple of reasons, the most exciting, the birth of my baby boy, he's growing so fast, I can't believe he's already almost 8 months old.

Next most memorable thing, the birth of my book, Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting. Still can't believe that this dream came true this year.

Next, the new Moda Bake Shop book, Sweet Celebrations with the Moda Bake Shop Chefs.
I've always loved the Moda Bake Shop, (I have a new tutorial in the works) and I feel so honored that I was asked to contribute a few projects to the second book. The theme of the book is celebrations. I live in Utah and it seems like someone here is always having a baby... we love babies.. so how fitting is it to make a baby gift.
My mom and I designed "Out on a Line" this fun quilt and a coordinating banner.
When I made this quilt I knew that I was pregnant, I hadn't told anyone, my mom helped me come up with the idea for the quilt. I had no idea that I was expecting a boy.... but now it is so fitting that I made a baby boy quilt. :)
I can't wait for this fun quilt to come home and snuggle with my baby boy!

The pattern for this quilt is available in Sweet Celebrations with the Moda Bake Shop Chefs, I do have a few signed copies available here.

I also have a few signed copies of my book, Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting!
