Exciting News!

Thank you to everyone who voted for Kathleen in the McCalls Quilt Design Star Contest. She received word  yesterday that she has made it to the final round! She's already got a few ideas in mind and I can't wait to see what her final quilt design looks like!

As for me,

I've been busy quilting and doing a little bit of applique.

I quilted some fun leaves on this darling flannel patchwork quilt.

I machine quilted this fun Buggy Barn Christmas Tree Skirt.

and I added a little bit of applique to Kim's Figgy Christmas Quilt.

Christmas Quilts

It's that time of year!

Everyone is beginning to decorate and prepare for Christmas.

I've been busy at home decorating and even baking Christmas cookies with my little family!

I've also been busy quilting quilts for Christmas decor and gifts.

I quilted this 12 Days of Christmas quilt two times and two different ways. The first one is custom.

The second one is an all over pattern.

They both really cute!

I've also quilted a few of these fun "I Believe" panels.

Black Friday Shopping!

Last year we, meaning my mom, sister, aunt and cousin started a tradition. We were never the type to go Black Friday Shopping but when we heard about some great deals at the outlet mall we had to go!

This year Kathleen is out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday so we had a friend go with us instead. It was so much fun, shopping in the 1 degree weather and giggling the whole way. Then saving up to 70% off our total purchases! 

Now, if you know me very well you know that I hate to drive and I'm supposed to wear glasses to drive. (which I didn't have with me) It's cold and stormy here in Utah and since everyone else is from California they didn't dare drive their BIG VAN shopping! So I was the chauffeur and shuttled everyone around the mall in this big van! It was a great time and we got a lot of looks and laughs!

Catching up on my bee blocks

I've fallen behind on my bee blocks. So today I spent some time catching up on those. 

The first two are Dresdens and I am so glad that Kelly had us make them. It was a first for me and let me tell you, I will be making them again! They are so much fun!

Considering they were my first Dresdens I think they turned out pretty cute!

 

Then I got to make a couple more bee blocks. Blocks of my choice. 

So I chose to make a melon block and a half square triangle block.

I think they are both pretty cute!

Machine Quilting: Swirls & Feathers

Carrie Anne made these darling quilts and asked me to machine quilt them for her. 

This cute quilt was made from Frolic materials and the pattern is called Easy as Cake. (free tutorial over on Moda Bake Shop.)

 I also quilted this darling Yellow Brick Road quilt for Carrie Anne, I love the colors that she used. She had me machine quilt feathers all over the whole quilt. I love how they turned out.
