Fresh Mini Quilt Club {June}

Yes, I'm a little behind, and playing catch-up. My quilts seem to always be last on my priority list. Oh well :)
I love having a little quilt under my sewing machine.
So the Fresh Mini Quilt from June was the perfect fit. I love how happy and modern it looks under my Bernina.
Such a cute little quilt.
You can find more details about the Fresh Mini Quilt club over at Canoe Ridge Creations.

Arrow Quilt

This fabulous Arrow quilt is another quilt pieced by Lissa!
I love this pattern, if you remember earlier this year I machine quilted another version of this quilt, it was fun to machine quilt this version, I machine quilted it almost the same, just a few differences.
I love the final result, such a cool quilt and pattern.

Thanks for letting me machine quilt another one of your darling quilts Lissa!

For the background filler I used my pebbles pattern, available in digital or paper format.

Hexagon Quilt

Donna pieced this darling Hexagon quilt.

I'm totally crushing on hexagons right now!
She sent me her quilt and asked me to machine quilt it for her.
She wanted a custom look but not too much detail, so we decided to quilt a straight line border and my Dancing Pansies pantograph pattern in the main body of the quilt.
I love the look and the result that it created. Those straight line borders are so much fun.

Thanks for letting me machine quilt your darling quilt Donna!

Digital Dancing Pansies pantograph pattern is available for purchase here.
Paper Dancing Pansies pantograph pattern is available for purchase here.

Self-Binding Receiving Baby Blankets

Yes, another friend of Whitnee's is having a baby, so guess what that means.... We have an excuse to make self-binding receiving blankets!
A few days ago Whitnee (my sister) came to the studio and the two of us spent a couple hours making these self-binding receiving blankets, with of course, a little embroidery applique.
The blanket above features our Baby Girl Buggy Applique.
Whitnee also made this version using our Single Flower Applique.

Pickledish Quilt

Lissa pieced this gorgeous Pickledish quilt.
I seriously love it so much, the colors, the pattern, it's just awesome, some day I'll really play with curved piecing. :)
She sent it to me and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her. She told me I could do whatever I wanted, she just wanted Quilters Dream Wool batting. (It creates some beautiful texture.)
I had so much fun quilting this quilt, I love how it turned out. I sure hope Lissa loves it as much as I do. :)
I thought the quilt backing turned out pretty cool too, so I had to share a couple pictures.
Thanks for letting me machine quilt your beautiful quilt Lissa!

Traffic Quilt

Kathy pieced this beautiful "Traffic" quilt.
The quilt is beautiful and huge! It's going to be on her king size bed.
I custom machine quilted it for her, I really had a lot of fun with this quilt, adding little details to each segment to give it it's own beautiful look.
I love how it turned out!

Baby Zig-Zag Quilt

Kathy pieced this darling baby zigzag quilt for a friends new baby. It's a fun twist on all of the chevron quilts that we've been seeing. It's refreshing. :)
She asked me to custom machine quilt it for her, whatever I thought would look good. So I machine quilted zigzags in the solids and swirls in the prints, I love how it really did help the pattern to pop!

Thanks for letting me machine quilt your quilt Kathy!

A few facts:
Quilt is made from Jaybird Quilts pattern Giggles, available for purchase here, using Jaybird Quilts new Sidekick ruler available for purchase here.

Baby Boy Quilt

Doris made this darling little baby boy quilt for her new grandson. A simple but cute quilt, she purchased the quilt kit from American Quilting.
Doris brought me her quilt and asked me to machine quilt something very gender neutral, so of course I quilted swirls, I kinda love them lots!

Log Cabin Quilt

Barbara pieced this beautiful Log Cabin Quilt.
I love the use of the neutral fabrics.
She brought it to me and asked me to machine quilt feathers in the body of the quilt and then straight lines in the borders. I really love the modern/classic look that the quilt gives off.
The quilt backing is a simple tone on tone fabric, it really shows of the quilting beautifully.
Thanks for letting me machine quilt your beautiful quilt Barbara!

Flower Quilt

Jan made this darling flower quilt.
I love how the pattern has incorporated traditional quilt blocks but with the stems it's so fresh!
Jan sent me her quilt and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her.
It was a fun quilt to add little details to, to make each flower pop!
And of course I added some of my favorite feathers. :)
Thanks for letting me machine quilt your darling quilt Jan!

30's Quilt

Mary made this beautiful 30's replica quilt. Since she made the quilt as a replica she wanted the machine quilting to be similar to what they would have quilted in the 30's.
Mary sent me her quilt and asked me to machine quilt it for her. I love the final, vintage result. Some times keeping the quilting more simple, like this quilt is hard to do, for me anyways. I tend to be more of a heavy machine quilter so toning it down can be out of my comfort zone.
But, in the end, I feel the result was totally worth it. I really feel that the quilt looks true to it's era.
Thanks for letting me machine quilt your quilt Mary!

Hungry Caterpillar Quilt

Kathy made this fun Hungry Caterpillar quilt, she brought it to me and told me to machine quilt whatever I wanted.
After checking it out I came up with the perfect edge to edge pattern, Numeral, if you look closely you can see numbers quilted into the quilt. The quilt backing was scrappy with several pieces of the coordinating number fabric.
I love how this quilt turned out!
Numeral digital machine quilting pattern is available for purchase here.
It will also soon be available in paper pantograph! YAY!

Bringing My Childhood to My Children

As a child I remember going to my grandparents' home and watching our favorite Disney movies on VHS (many of them were in black and white!). Now that I've grown up (well, I'm supposed to be a grown up), I've tried to bring a lot of things from my childhood to my children. Although we don't have a VHS player we do have a DVD & Blu-ray player and my kids really love to watch Disney movies.

Last week my kids had the opportunity to pre-view The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which is coming out for the first time on Blu-ray Combo Pack and HD digital. My kids aren't always the best at sitting still and watching movies, but they LOVED Winnie the Pooh and they both sat still and watched for an hour and a half!
For the first time on August 27th you can experience the friendship, imagination and adventure of the Hundred Acre Woods when all of your favorite characters come alive in this timeless motion picture.
To learn more you can visit Disney's website or follow Winnie the Pooh on Facebook!
Now, to enter for a chance to win a $50 Visa Gift Card and a Winnie The Pooh Blu-ray Combo Pack, share with us the importance of friendship, imagination and adventure in your child's life...
