I've been needing a new yellow and gray table topper for a while now and I finally took some time to make myself one. I'm sure you all know that I'm slightly obsessed with yellows and grays.
I was trying to think why I love the combination so much and I've come to the conclusion that I was brainwashed as a child. My mom decorated our bedrooms to the extreme, when I was younger, she decorated many Parade of Homes houses and one of the homes that she decorated, she actually used my exact bedroom decor, yellow and white striped wall paper and all. My bedroom was floor to ceiling yellow and white. So, I'm thinking that I was subconsciously brainwashed as a child to love good yellows, thanks mom!
HAHA, I'm kidding. I wasn't really brainwashed. :)
Anyways, my friends over at
Fat Quarter Shop have a fun new free pattern as part of their "Classic and Vintage Series" and I decided to sew along with them this time. I chose to make the smallest version of the quilt pattern, just four blocks, but I think it's perfect for my table and adds just the right amount of color.
