Colored Candies - A Modern One-Block Quilt

Kathleen and I have been doing so good remaking the quilts in our new book, Modern One-Block Quilts, we've been making them in order, starting at the beginning of the book. This time we skipped ahead a little bit, we couldn't help it, Kathleen came up with the idea to re-make Colored Candies in a Valentines Day version. :)

When we originally made and designed this quilt it reminded me of Skittles or Starburst candies, but when it came time to re-make Kathleen got the idea to re-make it inspired by Conversation Hearts. I love how it turned out!
We designed 26 Conversation Heart inspired embroidery files for this version, you can purchase them here, on our website.
I machine quilted this version of Colored Candies with one of our new digital pantograph patterns, Polka Dots
Long-arm quilters can purchase that pattern here.
We may have been a little bit out of control taking pictures of this one, oh well, who doesn't love a little eye-candy! :)
This is the original version of Colored Candies, I think it's so much fun to see the original versions next to the new re-made versions. It's kinda crazy how much different they look from each other.
I custom machine quilted the original version. Here is a close up of my machine quilting.

A few fun details:
**Embroidery files for Valentines version of Colored Candies are available here.

**Fabrics used in the original version and the re-made version are Moda Bella Solids and Kona Cottons.

**quilting pattern used on the Valentines version is Polka Dots, patterns is available for purchase here.

**Colored Candies pattern is published in Modern One-Block Quilts, pattern is published in 3 sizes, Baby - 45"x45", Throw - 63"x63" and Coverlet - 72"x72".

**Embroidery was done using Aurifil thread on our Bernina Aurora 440QE.

**Batting used is Quilters Dream Poly Select.

Busy Machine Quiting

Remember back here when I told you that I try to quilt during the day. Well, I've been busy doing just that!
Here are a few quilts that I've machine quilted recently.

This heart quilt above and the bloom quilt were pieced by the same sweet customer! I think they are both darling.

Remember how I told you that Bloom is my most popular quilt? Well here's another one! Just as cute as the others.

Another one of my sweet customers made this Valentines day quit above. She also made this fun cowboy quilt below.

I had fun quilting all of these quilts.
I finished two quilts today by about three o'clock so I was able to spend some time this afternoon working on my next Moda Bake Shop quilt. I just have a little bit of applique left to do and then it'll be ready to quilt! I love how it's turning out!
What have you been busy doing?

Another Valentines Day Quilt

I didn't piece this quilt but I did quilt it. My mom pieced it a while ago and I just recently quilted it. I thought it was very appropriate for Valentines Day!

February

So I am obsessed with the Buggy Barn! I pieced and quilted this quilt for Valentines Day! It was really fun to piece because there were so many different blocks.
When I quilted it I decided to try a differnt type of meandering. It's hard to see it on these pictures but I did small circles all over!
