Some days I am so exhausted from quilting, I'm overwhelmed, some days I wonder if I'd be better off having a "normal" job.....then there are days that are just awesome. I seem to have a lot of those lately, I'm just excited about the future, I'm excited about the quilts that I have been quilting and the quilts that I get to quilt. There are also the quilts that I've quilted but just can't quite share with you....yet! With quilt market right around the corner there seems to be a lot of those "secret" quilts here. Each year Auriful Threads and Pat Sloan host a fun block of the month. Back in 2013, like forever ago, Pat asked me if I would machine quilt the final 2014 quilt when it was finished and also, if I'd share a few machine quilting tips during the year.

I was thrilled and honored to be asked to quilt the quilt, after hit hangs out at Quilt Market in a few weeks it'll live in the Aurifil offices in Italy. How cool is that?!?!

Machine Quilting with Contrasting Thread

Generally when I machine quilt any quilt I select thread colors that will blend the most with the quilt fabrics, usually my go-to thread is #402 So Fine! by Super Threads. It's a great color and blends with so many quilts.

Finally it hit me, ya know, in the middle of the night... So, I'm here today to introduce you to 30 Days of Sewing Quilt Blocks - Star Version!

Like the original 30 Days of Sewing Quilt Blocks I'll be sharing a new 12" block tutorial every day for the next 30 days with quilt ideas. The only big difference this time around, I'll be using the star theme. I'm super excited about this series and can't wait to see where it'll take me creatively. :)
