Alrighty friends! It's time for star block number 10! One, third of the way through these star quilt block tutorials.
Today's quilt block is the Nine Patch Star.
Cutting:
This block will finish at 12"x12" square
White fabric:
4- 4 7/8"x4 7/8" squares
(Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of these.)
1- 4 1/2"x4 1/2" square
Gray fabric:
2- 4 7/8"x4 7/8" squares
Pink fabric:
2- 4 7/8"x4 7/8" squares
Sewing:
Place one white and one pink 4 7/8"x4 7/8" square right sides together.
Sew 1/4" on both sides of the diagonal draw line.
Cut on the draw line.
Press toward the dark fabric.
Repeat, make a total of four pink and white half square triangle blocks.
Repeat the same process with the 4 7/8" gray squares, make a total of four gray and white half square triangle blocks.
Sew one pink and white half square triangle block, one gray and white half square triangle block and one pink and white half square triangle block.
Press.
Make two units exactly the same.
Sew one gray and white half square triangle block, one white 4 1/2" square and one one gray and white half square triangle block.
Press.
Sew the three rows together.
Press.
Now, to make this into a 96"x96" quilt you'll need the following fabrics:
Gray fabric:
2 5/8 yards
White fabric:
6 yards
Pink fabric:
2 5/8 yards
