Each year Auriful Threads and Pat Sloan host a fun block of the month. Back in 2013, like forever ago, Pat asked me if I would machine quilt the final 2014 quilt when it was finished and also, if I'd share a few machine quilting tips during the year.
I was thrilled and honored to be asked to quilt the quilt, after hit hangs out at Quilt Market in a few weeks it'll live in the Aurifil offices in Italy. How cool is that?!?!
Because the quilt is a "sampler" style quilt I knew I needed to do some really cool free-motion, custom machine quilting. This was my very first time to use Auriful thread on my long-arm, and to be quite honest, I was a little nervous, Gammill's although amazing machines, they can be a little sensitive when it comes to threads. I was not disappointed with the Aurifil thread, it ran beautifully through my machine. YAY!
I just love how it turned out, I had a hard time mailing this one back. :)
Check out Pat's blog and the Aurifil blog for more details about the free-pattern.

I love the setting done to look like Spools. Perfect for the Aurifil offices! Did you get a Giant Spool of Aurifil, like Pat got at Houston last year??? If not you need to talk to Alex...
