Otis Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

Some days I am so exhausted from quilting, I'm overwhelmed, some days I wonder if I'd be better off having a "normal" job.....then there are days that are just awesome. I seem to have a lot of those lately, I'm just excited about the future, I'm excited about the quilts that I have been quilting and the quilts that I get to quilt. There are also the quilts that I've quilted but just can't quite share with you....yet! With quilt market right around the corner there seems to be a lot of those "secret" quilts here. Today I get to share one of those with you! This gorgeous quilt is called "Otis" it's by Miss Rosie and features For You fabric by Zen Chic for Moda fabrics

When this quilt arrived in the mail I actually looked it at it for several days, or longer, I knew with all of that negative space I needed to quilt something really cool, something that would add the the adorable quilt, but not take away. I finally decided on point to point quilting with a few figure eight's and some other rounded shapes, just to soften it up a tiny bit.
I really love how this quilt turned out, oh...and that fabric! It's perfect, I mostly work with solid fabrics on my own quilts, but I really love the rich bright colors in this line. I must hoard some of this!! :)
I just love it! Thank you to all of my friends over at Moda Fabrics for letting me quilt another awesome quilt!

For this quilt I used Quilters Dream Poly Deluxe batting and So Fine! thread by Superior Threads.

  1. Otis quickly shot to the top of the "to do " list. What's'so her name needs to finish writing it and your quilting really is wonderful Natalia. I love the way it accents some of the pattern lines and I love how you made your own pattern in some spots!

  2. I love seeing all the fun things you are quilting on the open spaces. You inspire me. Have you or will you digitize any of these designs?

  4. Love it. I shy away from negative spaced quilts. This is beautiful and makes me want to try one.
