3 Baby Quilts - 1 Day!

Yesterday was a marathon.
I don't usually quilt this many quilts in one day,
but,
since I slacked off last Friday I had to catch up.
I quilted this Modern Baby quilt for Jenn I love how she made it in the Eden material! It's so soft looking! Just love it!
A close up of the quilting.
Then I quilted this fun little baby girl quilt. So simple yet so super cute!

I had good intentions

I arrived at my studio bright and early this morning, was doing a little bit of piecing on my conventional machine when my needle broke, no big deal. Then I realized that was the last regular needle I had. Boo :(
So I left my machine and decided to work on a different project until my LQS opened, which wasn't for two hours. After they opened I ran and picked up some needles. I put the new needle on my machine and when I did I realized that the needle was right above the metal on my presser-foot.
I always move the needle to the desired position and while I had been away we had a power surge, that made my needle become stuck right about the metal. Not good. I hurried and got on the phone with the Bernina dealer and they told me I had to bring them the machine. So I jumped in the car and headed to the dealer, which is about 30 miles away. Went in and the sweet little man told me that he doesn't work with the computerized Berninas only the older ones and the man who works on the newer ones just left and won't be back for a couple of hours. GREAT! I drove all that way and now they can't fix it. The little man says let me take a look and maybe I can do something. So he gets the machine, applies a little pressure to the needle bar and pop, it went right back into place! Then the little man was nice enough to oil and clean my machine for me all for FREE! He is now my new best friend! He saved my day! Although I didn't get much accomplished today at least my machine is fixed!
Hope you're all having a great day with no broken needles or machines! :)

Row Quilt and Botany

I finished quilting this row quilt this morning! I think it's so much fun. Last year, 2009, this was our local quilt guild quilt of the year. We live in a small town in the Utah mountains and our little town has a lot of fun attractions. So the ladies that designed the quilt tried to incorporate those into the quilt.
We have very beautiful mountains.
Lots of pretty flowers in all of the fields.
We have a historic steam engine that runs through the valley.
The lakes and rivers.
Lots of old buildings.
The cobblestone sidewalks.
Lots of farms
And lots of wide open country.

Here are a few close ups of my quilting.
The snow topped mountains.
The farm and grasslands.
The old buildings and the cobblestone sidewalks.
We have a couple of lakes in our valley.
It's been so much fun to see the variations of this quilt.

I also quilted this fun Botany House quilt today.
I think it's super cute and kinda want to make one for myself!
Can you believe it's already Thursday afternoon?
I can't!

Stop back by tomorrow for another giveaway!!!

Inspired by me...... Really?

My sweet customer Darcy made my day when she brought me this quilt.
First of all I think it's daring,
then she told me she was inspired by our quilt Figgy Christmas!
Seriously,
it
made
my
day!
I machine quilted it for her.
Custom quilting.
I think it turned out super cute,
but,
I may be a little biased.
I also quilted this fun baby quilt this week.
Cute isn't it!

Thanks to everyone who joined in Talkin' Tuesday #talknt last night!
It was fun,
we learned a lot together
and
I can't wait until next week!

Last but not least! The $25.00 gift certificate winner will be announced tonight!

Talkin' Tuesdays

We have decided to host Talkin' Tuesdays #talknt on Twitter since it is more user friendly than the chat rooms that we have tried before. The tips below should help you become acquainted with Twitter quickly!

How to join Talkin' Tuesdays #talknt

If you’re not already set up on Twitter, you will need to head on over and set up an account. (Twitter is free.) Here are some tips for setting up your account.
  • Choose a user name that reflects who you are and that isn’t too long.
  • Use a head shot of yourself as your avatar, I like to see what you look like! :)
  • Make sure and include a bio of yourself in your profile, it's fun to share who you are!
  • To chat with other tweeters simply use the @thentheirname Feel free to make new friends!
  • If you have an online business or etsy shop you may want to create a separate account for that.
  • When you see PLS RT this mean Please Retweet!
  • Please make sure that make sure that you have included the hashtag #talknt and that it’s spelled properly. The feed will only show tweets that clearly have #talknt in them. You must also make sure that your account isn’t locked. Go to settings and make sure “...Protect my tweets” is NOT checked. There are also cases in which the feed will not pull in tweets from inactive accounts so if you’ve just set up a new account or don’t post very often you may have to become a more active twitter user in order to join in the feed.
Once you’re all set up on Twitter, note the following:
  • When using Twitter, you must refresh often to see new tweets streaming in. Some third-party technologies, like Seesmic or Hootsuite, stream continuously, making it so you do not have to refresh, but on Twitter you do.
  • I use Seesmic. In Seesmic to join the chat you will type #talknt. This will pull up a chat and everyone on twitter that is typing #talknt will see what you're saying.
  • So after everything you type in our chat you will need to type #talknt. Otherwise we wont see what you're saying. Clear as mud?
  • To say something back to someone you will type @ then their name then your message then #talknt. So if you wanted to say something to me you would type @piecenquilt how are you today #talknt.

What is Talkin Tuesdays? #talknt

  • When I joined Twitter I was overwhelmed, after my first few hours of actually using it that overwhelming feeling left and now I'm addicted.  This is a fun way to make new friends in the sewing and virtual community
  • Twitter has its own rules of etiquette, which include breaking all those rules we've been taught our whole lives! WAHOO!
  • Join in on others conversations.
  • Go off on tangents.
  • Shorten words to fit a complete thought in 140 characters, and talk to strangers.
  • The more you use people’s Twitter IDs as you tweet to them (e.g., @piecenquilt), the more likely they are to see and reply to your tweet(s).

Use Seesmic

Some of my friends prefer other services but for me I am most comfortable with Seesmic. I like that I can view what's going on with Talkin' Tuesdays #talknt while maintaining other conversations at the same time.

Talk It Up #talknt

Have fun with this! My original idea was that there are so many of us sewer/crafters out there and we need a break from our usual grind, a chance to share tips, advice, funny stories and learn from each other.

Win a Prize!

Each week at the end of our chat we will give away a fabulous prize! This weeks prize 8/31/10 will be an Spirit Charm Pack. Sponsored by Piece N Quilt.

My flower girl!

Last week I told  you that my brother married a beautiful girl and my daughter got to be a flower girl at the wedding. I'm finally getting around to sharing some pictures.
There were actually three flower girls. They all looked so cute in their matching dresses.
Mine is the one on the left.
Chesney was really nervous, she did walk all the way down the aisle but didn't actually throw any flowers and when the got to the front she turned around and ran back to the back. :)
Here is my whole family, in case you were wondering what we all looked like. :)
All of the sisters. Krachel is my older sister, Holly is our new sister, Whitnee and I.

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!
I would love to hear!
