A proud daughter!

I know that my mom has talent!
I, along with my siblings and my dad have been very lucky to learn from her talent! She has always had an AMAZING eye for color and style. Not only with quilts, she has a fabulous sense of style with her home and yard. (I know because I watch strangers stop by and take pictures of her home every day!) I could go on and I but I won't!
Kathleen is my mom/partner in crime!
A couple months ago she decided to enter a quilt in the McCalls Quilting Design Star contest. I think there were over 170 entrants and 15 of them have been selected to compete in the contest. Well, one of those is my mom! They asked her a few questions about herself and I couldn't help but laugh as I was reading them! So, head on over to McCalls to read more about Kathleen!
Congratulations mom! I'm really proud of you!

  1. Judging by her answers, your mom has a great sense of humor. She is also very pretty and a talented quilter, so you have great genes to leans on! I wish her luck!!

  9. This is amazing! Mom(me),I am 51 and I have a daughter (27) We even both have long dark hair! They say everyone has a twin in this world you could be ours! I am the sewer though, my Daughter has not followed in my footsteps there but she loves to be crafty. Does your mom have a website or a facebook page that I could become friends with? I would love to have a friend 'my age' that quilts! You go momma girl with the quilt design contest!! Loved the interview! Love all of your wonderful inspiration at Piece N Quilt. Keep it coming!

  11. She needs to come give me some tips. I am good at quilting but not so good at yards. The house I moved into needs some major landscaping done the people that were here did nothing to it and I have been trying all summer to make it more attractive.

  14. Congrats to your mom. I know you are proud! I am 51 as well and have a 26-year-old daughter, who is beautiful just as you! However, I am the quilter, scrapbooker, all things crafty, while my daughter is the true talent; she is a graphic designer for a company and can draw like no-ones business!!!!!! I am very proud of her. I did, however, get her to sew some baby bedding with me for her soon-to-be-born son (the third boy), which you can see at nickilundeen.blogspot.com.

Congrats again! You go Kathleen, and best of luck to you!
