My mom just called - she was crying....

My mom (Kathleen) works full time in a Dr.'s office. She just called me from work and she was crying. It actually made me start to cry. Then she whispered..... I WON! Oh my gosh! This is amazing. Everyone who participated in the contest made some AMAZING quilts and for her to win this contest means more than you can imagine to her. 
For the Birds was her final entry.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported her.  She really needs to start her own blog so she can thank each and everyone of you.

    Tell your mother, congratulations! Her quilts were different and beautiful! Where else do you see a quilt like her "For the Birds" or her lattice one that you know I just love?! And congrats to you too.....all that quilting, I'm sure helped to enhance the quilts being judged!

    Oh, I'm so tickled for her !

    One day about a week ago, you posted another thing about the contest and explained the whole thing. I was impressed with what it took to get that far, so I followed your link, and automatically voted for her on the page that the link brought up. Then I thought, "well, Dolly, you ought to atleast look at the other quilts and see if you DO like this one best."
    Well, let me tell you, hers was my favorite, hands down !
    So every day that I thought of it since then, I have followed your link and voted for her again.

    She truly deserves this win ! (And you were a very good campaign manager !)

    That is one awesome quilt. She must have worked on it for hours. For me, I have yet to actually do some quilting (any steps in quilting) since the New Year - been busy tatting using my own hand dyed threads.
