Memory Quilt {machine quilting}

Joyce pieced and designed this fun quilt for her granddaughters' birthday.
She included pictures and things that she loves.

It was a fun quilt to machine quilt and look at all the creativeness (is that even a word :) that is going on here.
Joyce is super creative, click here to see another quilt that she created and I quilted.
The backing on this quilt is minky, it quilted really cute.

Back to the long arm machine, I had a late start this morning so I may be here a little while longer tonight :)

Saltbox Sampler {machine quilting}

I finished machine quilting this darling Saltbox Sampler quilt last week.
It's such a cute scrappy quilt.
Retta pieced it and I machine quilted it for her.
I've machine quilted this quilt before, click here to see Susans' version.
Pattern is Saltbox Sampler by Amy McClellan of Under the Garden Moon & American Quilting. Pattern can be purchased here.

She also made this darling "Journey West" quilt.
I machine quilted it as well, mostly stitch-in-the-ditch to keep it a little more antique looking.
Hope you had a fantastic weekend, I had family here from out of town and we also attended my husbands family reunion.... with about 100 people, and they weren't all there.. :)

Springville Quilt Show

Last night my mom and I along with some of our family went to the Springville Quilt Show preview and awards ceremony.
The quilts at the show are AMAZING!
I'll have to go back sometime and take more pictures.
Anyways, my mom and I were awarded the
Award of Excellence for Machine Quilting
I tried to stay in my seat and just take pictures but somehow my mom got me to come up there and accept the award with her.
After the ceremony we went and took a few pictures of the quilt.
I'm still a little in shock about the award.
This show is pretty amazing and it's a huge honor to even be considered to win an award.
There is the quilt, with it's big blue ribbon next to it.
:)
I thought I'd share a couple pics of the quilting.
This quilt is called "It's for the Birds" the pattern is available in McCalls Quilting magazine May/June 2011 Issue. It is an original design by Kathleen Whiting.

If you are in Utah the Springville Quilt Show runs from now until August 30th, and it's a free show!

Sometimes simple is best!
Especially when it's a gift!
Shelby made this super cute baby girl quilt and I machine quilted it for her.
Just a few strips and some simple applique!
Love it!

How to Make a Pillow Form {a free tutorial}

I have been on a little bit of a pillow making kick lately. I love that pillows add so much to a room and are pretty quick to make. I have a few pillow tutorials that I'm going to be sharing soon, in the mean time I wanted to share how Kathleen and I make pillow forms that will stay full.

Star Quilt {Arkansas Star} Month 6

**If you've been following along since the beginning this block was not in the original pattern. I have decided to switch a few of the blocks out so this quilt project stays at a beginner level.**

This month we are making the Arkansas Star.
