Sewing Chickens!

Day 2 of teaching in Colorado was fun, we had a small group but that didn't stop us! We sewed and sewed and the ladies in the group got all of the blocks for their quilts pieced. Now they just have to sew them together!
These are just a few of the chickens.
We were sewing the darling chicken quilt from Susanne McNeil's book, S.O.S. Strips or Squares. It's a fun quilt because it's all made from jelly rolls! Yes, even the background!

Have a great weekend! I'm super excited for next week, Monday I will be chatting on American Patchwork & Quilting radio with Pat Sloan.

Quilting in Colorado Springs

R

Right now I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado, teaching at Piecing Partners Quilt Guild. We had a bit of an adventure getting here but we made it safely. :) Yesterday we spent the day teaching abbot pre-cut fabrics, what are they, and what do you do with them. The lecture was really fun, the guild is a great group. Then in the afternoon we sewed, won prizes and had fun! Today is day two, a full day of sewing, I'm excited for our class today! Hope you're all having a great week!

Accuquilt Go ~ My Newest Die

I love my Accuquilt Go! I use it all the time, my favorite thing to use it for is cutting binding strips, we cut all of our bindings 2 1/4" and we have a 2 1/4" die that makes prepping bindings super speedy!
I just recently got a new die, the Go! Circle, 2", 3" & 5".

As you can see it's already had a ton of use, the circles are great sizes and this die is fun to use!

Trying new foods!

So, you all know how much I strongly dislike cooking, I think it's because I always feel that I am lost when it comes to the kitchen.
I'm also afraid to try new things, whenever we go out to dinner I never try anything new. I always eat the exact same thing and I wish I was brave.

The last month I've been trying really hard to quit eating out. We went through a phase when I don't know if we ate anything at home besides breakfast and I hated it. So I started searching online for great crock pot recipes, since I do work outside the home (quilting) I don't have a lot of time on my hands to cook, so the crock pot is my best friend.
We've been brave and tried a lot of new recipes, some we've hated, some we've loved. Today I made Crock Pot Beef Carniatis Tacos, they were so good!
My husband loved Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken, it was a little too spicy for me but he loved it and ate it for lunch and dinner for 3 days.
We also loved Crock Pot Chicken Cordon Bleu, very yummy!

This has been such a fun adventure. I have a bunch more recipes that I'm going to try. I'll let you know what we think of them!

Curious Nature ~ Jamie's Version

Whenever Jamie sends a quilt for machine quilting I get all sorts of excited, she makes some pretty awesome quilts and this one did not disappoint.
I may have gone over board on the pictures.... oh well. :)
Jamie used a Soy batting in this quilt, it was the first time I've quilted on Soy batting... it was AMAZING!!
