Let's Stitch - A Block a Day with Natalia Bonner - Using Machine Quilting Rulers

Things have been a bit quiet here on the blog, but that doesn't mean things behind the scenes aren't crazy busy and exciting! We've been busy working on some exciting new things to come this summer, including a new book; Visual Guide to Creative Straight Line Quilting, a new machine quilting ruler, Inside Out, and launching June 1st our new YouTube series, Let's Stitch - a block a day with Natalia Bonner.

Make sure you subscribe to Natalia's YouTube channel, so you'll get first access to the videos.

Beginning June 1, 2019 Natalia will share 1 block a day for 365 days, in each video Natalia will walk you, step-by-step through one block, using machine quilting rulers and helping you to improve your machine quilting skills!

We've got some really exciting plans, including weekly giveaways for those who stitch along, and an awesome prize at the end for anyone who stitches all 365 designs!

We can't wait to stitch along with you all!

**************************************
So, what will you need to join the fun?
**A machine quilting ruler, we recommend one or all of Natalia's rulers;
(If you do not have one of Natalia's rulers we recommend at least, a straight and a curved machine quilting ruler.)

**High-quality machine quilting thread, Natalia will be using So Fine! on the top and Bottom Line on the bobbin.

**Natalia will stitch out all of the designs on the "Let's Quilt" panels from Honest Fabric, to stitch out all 365 designs you will need 7 of the panels, but, you can work with just one at a time. Natalia will be stitching all of her designs on the 51"x60" panel. We recommend that size for this stitch-along.
(These panels are printed on-demand and take up to 2 weeks for delivery.)

If you choose to stitch the designs on your own fabric, you will need 6" squares, circles and triangles.
**To machine quilt with rulers you will need a domestic or longarm machine in good working condition with a ruler foot and the ability to drop the feed-dogs.
Natalia will share basic ruler work techniques but you do need to know how to work your machine.

**PDF versions of each block will be available for purchase here.

**Digital files for computerized quilting will be available for purchase here.

**Share your stitching on Instagram using the #letsstitchwithnatalia. Each week we will select one winner, who's shared their blocks that week. The prizes are fabulous, and you won't want to miss this!
(Your posts must be public for us to see them.)

**Natalia will use a blue or white Mark-B-Gone marker to mark several of the designs.

**Westalee Stable Tape or Grip Discs are helpful when working with rulers.

**Natalia uses a mister spray bottle to remove marks.

**We have a Facebook group were you can join the fun and share your progress, click here to join the group.
**Machingers and other machine quilting notions are available on our website.

**You can pick up a Let's Stitch - T-Shirt below (click on the image).

(You do not have to purchase any of these products to sew along, however these are the tools Natalia will be using and they will help make the process easier.)

  1. Being from South Africa there is no way that the panel will be delivered in 2 weeks. I am still waiting for a order dated 2 March. So to participate I will have to make the panel. What is the measurements of the white sashing lines between the squares please?

  7. This sounds like so much fun. I have many quilts for charity that are already pieced to practice on. Can I use those or do I have to use the panel to submit to get in the entry for the prize?

  8. Sorry. Guess I will drop out of this one. I do NOT have nor want an instagram account and refuse to set one up just for this. Hate that this is the only way you can qualify to win.

    1. Very sorry you feel that way, we do a lot of giveaways on Facebook so we've chosen to share the love over onto Instagram as well. You're still more than welcome to stitch along and share your progress on our Facebook group.

    1. Hey there, I'm not sure what type of machine you have, but zippered leaders are a fabulous tool on the longarm, if you have a couple sets you can have one set attached to the quilt for this quilt along and easily take the quilt on and off the machine. :)
      Happy stitching!
