While at Quilt Market I came across some darling Ruffle Fabric. They had some darling samples of little dresses made from this and I thought it'd be perfect to make a little dress for my little girl.... I'm not much of a clothing sewer so we'll see how this goes.
Basic Grey, who I think is awesome, were selling these darling felt flowers. The ruffle fabric and these flowers really got me excited!
So....
I've got big plans to make a dress, and incorporate some of these flowers.... something vintage looking and have 4yr old pictures taken within the next 12 days.
While at Quilt Market I picked up one of Sullivans new The Cutting EDGE rulers.
I've read about these for a while now but just hadn't ever tried one of them.
So.... here's the scoop on these cool new rulers, along the right side of the ruler they have a sharpening blade, made to sharpen your rotary cutter with each cut. Pretty nifty isn't it. I just started using mine yesterday so I'm not sure how long it will keep this blade sharp but if it keeps it sharper longer than it's definitely worth it!
The only disclaimer I have to share about this ruler is the sound. Since there is that sharpening edge on the ruler it makes a little noise when you sharpen. It totally caught me off guard the first time that I used it. Other than that it seems awesome.
And... check out that nice grid system on the ruler, the amazing Pat Sloan designed that!
Quilt Market is always so much fun, but oh boy such a creativity overload!
There are so many fun fabric lines, books, notions, magazines and so on that are coming out in the next few months.
If you were following along with me on Facebook and Twitter you probably saw what I was up to most of the time.. Including arriving in Houston and realizing that I had forgotten to take pants.
I have a few books, rulers and some fun ruffle fabric that I am going to be sharing and reviewing over the next few weeks.
Okay, time for me to head back to the quilting machine!
