Whole Wheat Pancakes ~ a free recipe

Whole Wheat Pancakes are one of my all time favorite breakfast foods. Growing up there were very few Saturday or Sunday mornings that I don't remember waking up to these. Now as an adult I like to make them almost every weekend as well!

Baby Boy Quilt

I machine quilted this fun little baby quilt for Colleen the other day.
She wanted me to quilt an all over pattern and something that wasn't girly at all.
So, I machine quilted this fun geometric pattern.
I love how it turned out! I don't think it's girly at all....what do you think?
The back of the quilt is a gray minky and it quilted up so cute!
Thanks for letting me machine quilt this fun quilt Colleen!

Embroidery Applique

For a long time now both my mom and I have really been wanting to learn how to do embroidery applique. We have so many fun things in mind but just haven't taken the time to figure out how to do it.
Yesterday I decided it was time.
I messed around with it a little, realized I had the machine set up wrong at first... but once I got it all figured out and going it was a lot of fun!
This little guitar is my first official piece of machine embroidery applique. Pretty simple but I'm thinking it's pretty dang cute.
And... you can bet that now that I have started to figure out how to do machine embroidery applique there will be a lot more of it in my future!
YIPEE!

I'm Celebrating!

Today is a day of celebration for a few reasons!

First of all, our families cute little dog just turned 8 years old! Seriously the time goes by so fast! I cannot believe we've already had him for eight years.

Second, this is my 1,000th blog post. I was thinking I should do something exciting and fabulous but it just hasn't happened....

Third, a couple nights ago my little girl was playing with her dolls and she kept telling me that she needed blankets for her dolls, that's something I should totally make for her, but since I haven't ever made any for her I remembered that when I got married my mom gave me all of my old stuff that she had kept, one is a little doll stroller that has a little pillow and a tiny doll quilt. I decided to pull those out and let Chesney play with them.
She loves them! They are perfect size for her dollies and now she can keep them warm.

I had to snap a totally candid picture, but mostly I just wanted to share, that cute little quilt, the one under the bumbo, yes the bumbo that my 4yr old is sitting in is the little doll quilt that my mom made for me about 25 years ago. I'm so glad that it's stayed in such great condition and that my daughter can now play with it.
Also check out what she has in her hands, a little lite brite, did any of you have one of those when you were little, I did, it was big and white and had to be plugged in, but it was cool! Now them make them small and portable and they are still cool!

Okay, time to get back to quilting! I'm working on a few darling projects for Amy that I just can't share yet.

A Quilt With A Camera

Joyce is very creative when it comes to piecing her quilts. She is always adding something special to make them unique.
This beautiful quilt she added that darling camera and hat, very cute!
She also added the dimensional flowers, they gave the quilt so much cute detail.
I machine quilted this fun quilt for Joyce, she asked that I quilt the entire quilt top using red thread, I was a little worried, because generally I would change thread colors for each fabric color, but I think it really turned out beautiful.
Joyce also pieced this darling dog quilt and this super cute ant quilt.
