Red & White Modern Building Blocks Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

I recently custom machine quilted this beautiful red and white Modern Building Blocks quilt for Linda. Linda loved the version of this quilt that Sherri made and I custom machine quilted for her a few years back, and asked that I machine quilt her quilt similar to Sherri's quilt.
I say this all the time, but, I don't like to quilt two quilts exactly the same. Mostly because my moods and ideas are always changing. So Linda's version is similar to Sherri's it's not exactly the same, and I love that!

I had a lot of fun combining ruler work with feathers and other fun fillers, a fun mix of modern and traditional custom machine quilting.
I did switch thread colors on this quilt, so all of the red sections are quilted using red thread and all of the white sections are quilted using white thread.
While I was machine quilting this quilt I did record several videos of me custom machine quilting, and I have been posting those over on YouTube. Make sure to check those out and subscribe to my YouTube channel. I'll be posting over there every Wednesday and Friday.
Thanks for letting me machine quilt your beautiful quilt Linda!

  1. What a beautiful quilt. I have seen the pattern, but not seen it in red & white. I love it. Maybe one in my future. Loved watching the videos of your work too!

  3. Love red and white quilts and your quilting really finishes it off pretty. What type of Quilters Dream are you using here?

  4. I have a question, I have watched several of your videos today and wonder if you ever quilt with 2 layers of batting (i.e. for a wall hanging) and what battings do you use? Will it give a loftier feel to the quilting?
