My local quilt shop, Quilted Works is featured in the Spring/Summer 2016 issue of Quilt Sampler as one of the top quilt shops! With this great honor for them comes a new quilt design, and I was able to custom machine quilt their new quilt for them, "Be Brave".
I had so much fun custom machine quilting the original version, and then they made a second version, which was even more fun to custom machine quilt.
This version is the quilt that is featured in Quilt Sampler. On this version I machine quilted "clams" in all of the background, and then machine quilted straight lines to keep the quilt crisp and keep that tribal feel. I love how this quilt turned out.
In my book; Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting I teach, step-by-step how-to machine quilt clams.
When I machine quilted this second version I knew that I wanted to keep with the tribal feel of the quilt, but I wanted the custom machine quilting to give the quilt a whole different feel from the first quilt.
So, I chose to extend the arrow patterns into the white background fabric.
In all of the triangles I machine quilted a cross-hatching pattern and then around the applique I machine quilted "double pebbles" another pattern from my book; Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting.
Here's a fun little video of me machine quilting on this beautiful quilt.
I really love how these quilts turned out! Thanks so much for letting me machine quilt your beautiful quilts!
