Farmers Star Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

I recently custom machine quilted this yummy Farmers Star Quilt for Genny. I may be a bit biased, because this quilt is from our Farmers Star pattern, and the Bella Solids coordinate with our Thirve fabric, but hey, I really do love it!

Because I'm crazy, or something like that, I have a hard time quilting two quilts exactly the same. So I chose to quilt Genny's quilt similar to our original Farmers Star quilt, but not exactly the same, and I have to say, I might actually like Genny's more than I like my own.

I used the straight side of my 4-N-1 Machine Quilting Ruler for all of the straight line quilting and then the rest is free-motion. The fun feathery swirl pattern that I quilted in the white background is one of the designs that I teach in my book; Next Steps in Machine Quilting

Thanks for letting me machine quilt these beautiful quilts Genny!

  1. This quilt is gorgeous! I love how you quilted it too; especially the contrast between the lines and the FMQ. Also, I am dying to get my hands on Thrive and those coordinating solids. I haven't been this excited about a fabric collection since...well, maybe never!
