Straight Line Quilting & Feathers Make My Heart Happy! + Bonus Video

I'm sure you're all so sick of me telling you how much I love ruler work and feathers, but I can't help it! I love them both so much!

I recently custom machine quilted this beautiful quilt for my client MaryAnn. Over the years I've machine qulited several quilts for her and they've all been fabulous, but for some reason there just hasn't ever been the perfect quilt  for some feather work, until now!

I think it's kind of fun to see the transformation from a quilt top, to a quilted quilt. This is MaryAnn's quilt before I did any machine quilting, just a blank slate with a bunch of negative space, or in my mind, a whole bunch of room to play!

I did go through and mark some reference lines before I began my machine quilting and then went to town on it with some ruler work, of course with my 4-N-1 Machine Quitling Ruler and some feathers. If you're scared of feathers make sure to check out my book; Visual Guide to Free-Motion Quilting Feathers.

While I was quilting this quilt I did film a few videos. Below is a short clip I shared today over on YouTube.
