Summer Breeze - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

Hi quilty friends! Hope your summer is going great! Last week I spent most of the week in Reno, NV teaching at Sew Original Sewing & Creative Expo. It was a great event and I had a great time teaching there. I did have big plans to get caught up on the blog in my down time, but between teaching 6 classes in four days, and trying to catch up on other necessary obligations unfortunately blogging fell to the way side.

But, I'm back now and will be until the first part of August, so hopefully I can be a little more consistent here.

Before I left I finished custom machine quilting this gorgeous Summer Breeze quilt for Emma. Emma sent me this beautiful quilt and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her, she gave me the go-ahead to quilt it however I wanted.

I really wanted to continue the ocean feel throughout the quilt and I think that I really was able to capture that feel.

In all of the background I machine quilted pebbles, swirls and some wavy lines. I love the soft feel that they gave the quilt.

In all of the strip border around the outside of the quilt I quilted swirls, figure 8's and ribbon candy. I also outlined the strips to really give them a bit of extra texture.
I used Quilters Dream Wool batting on this quilt, it's a fabulous batting that really helps to give the quilt the perfect texture.
Thanks for letting me custom machine quilt your beautiful quilt Emma!
