Helen pieced this beautiful Double Arrow quilt and then sent it to me for some custom machine quilting.
Helen really loved how the original quilt was quilted, she loved the feathers in the setting triangles and the straight lines in the stars, she just wanted something a little different as the background filler. We decided that swirls would be the perfect fit, and I agree, I think they are.
The quilt is pretty big, perfect for a bed size quilt.
The feathers in the border are really my favorite part of this quilt. I hadn't ever machine quilted feathers like this before, and I had so much fun with them. I tried to make them go in different directions, some of the triangles have two feathers. Some of the feathers curve into the center and some of them curve toward the outside of the quilt.
