Jolly Tartan Plaid - Edge to Edge Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner + Bonus Video

As much as I love custom machine quilting, and I really enjoy free-motion quilting I do feel that there is a place for edge to edge machine quilting. This quilt is the perfect example of that, at lest in my opinion.

The quilt is darling but between the pattern and the fabrics there is a lot going on, if I were to do custom quilting, most likely it's just going to blend into the fabrics. So, I feel that quilts like this, and quilts that are going to be "loved" meaning washed and used a lot, edge to edge machine quilting is the perfect fit.

Vanessa from Lella Boutique pieced this fun version of Jolly Tartan Plaid, a Basic Grey pattern and I love it! It's such a fun Christmas quilt! I used a fun Christmas edge to edge pattern and my Statler Stitcher and quilted this for her.

I did film a little video while I was quilting this quilt, you can check that out below. If you haven't already subscribed to my YouTube Channel you should! I have been having a lot of fun creating these little machine quilting videos.

Thanks for letting me quilt this darling quilt Vanessa!

  1. Beautiful quilt. Can I ask the name of the panto you used? And is it available in paper? I’m looking for a holiday one and really like that one. Keep the videos coming. I love watching them.

  2. Beautiful, as always. Love the choice of fabrics & pattern.
