Pirate Quilt

A couple months back, while I was up north visiting and sharing quilts at the Nebo Modern Quilt Guild, my sister Whitnee got super inspired and excited about Christmas. She decided to make several Christmas gifts, I wish I had pictures of everything she's making, it's super duper impressive!

Her 3 year old daughter loves Jake & the Neverland Pirates, so when she saw this quilt kit at Gracie Lou's Quilt Shop she knew she had to make the quilt for her daughter.

It's an adorable panel with two borders, super simple but I know Peytyn will love it!

Whitnee sent me the quilt and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her, I love how it turned out, she backed it with some Moda Cuddle fabric so it's super duper soft!

I wish I was as ambitious as Whitnee and had all of my Christmas gifts made already..... :)

Sesame Street Quilt

Kimberly from Fat Quarter Shop pieced this darling Sesame Street quilt, actually she made 2 of them for her boys!

The quilts are so fun, I'm sure her boys' will love them!

I custom machine quilted them and added lots of little details, I wanted to characters to just pop!

Kimberly backed these quilts with minky so they are extra soft and cuddly!

So cute!

Little Girl Dresses

Last week when I was teaching somehow the topic of making clothing for our kids came up. In the conversation Beth and I talked about how our moms made lots of little matchy-matchy dresses when we were little. We loved them. Beth now, as a mother makes them for her daughters, me, not so much, the thought of sewing clothing freaks me out! I've tried, like twice and it just wasn't happening for me. :)

Last week, Kathleen, my mom, had a little bit of time to do some sewing, just for fun, so she made matchy-matchy dresses for all of her granddaughters.

When I saw the little dresses I fell in love! I had big plans to take some darling pictures of the little girls to show off their dresses..... well, as you can see, that DIDN'T happen. My models didn't want to cooperate. :)

Two of the little girls live far away so we haven't even gotten to see them in their cute dresses, but I can't wait!

This was how my photo shoot went.... .yes they have minds of their own. Just ignore the strange poses and look at how adorable the dresses are.
