Target Cartwheel - Win a $1,000 Target GiftCard®!

I love Target! I wish so badly that we had one here in my town, but since we don't, it's still worth the 25 minute drive to get to the closest one.
So, I love to save money, but clipping coupons and storing them and keeping track of them, it's all so overwhelming to me. But I love the concept, it's like free money! A while back I heard about the new Cartwheel at Target. Uhm, yes, what a brilliant idea. I would think I'm not alone when it comes to people who love saving money...

Did you know that Target has a new program called Cartwheel? It's a cool new app to help you save money! Yay, even more reasons to LOVE Target, it's super duper simple to use, really all you need is your smartphone and then download the Cartwheel app. I've been using it and saving lots of money! I seriously LOVE this app!
So.... here are some of the awesome features about Cartwheel:
**There are more than 700 offers (coupons) in Cartwheel - 700, than't awesome, I don't know about you but I've never boughten 700 items in one trip to Target. :)
** Cartwheel can only be used on in-store purchases, you can't use this app online.
** Cartwheel can be used on your desktop, tablet, mobile web or iPhone and Droid apps.
Using either the iPhone or Droid native apps, guests can scan any barcode in store to see if that item has a Cartwheel offer on it. This is a very fun feature that everyone can love!
**Mulit-use, so here is another awesome feature with this app.... you can use any offer on the list as many times as you want until the offer expires, there are a few exceptions, but that's pretty awesome!!!!!
**You can use the Cartwheel along with other coupons! Bonus, save even more moolah!

** Badges—badges are a fun way to earn more spots on your Cartwheel list! They are awarded for reaching savings milestones ($10, $25, $50, etc.), interacting with Cartwheel (example: adding an offer from a collection to your list), and via social sharing (an invited friend who joins Cartwheel). For each badge that is earned, a new spot on your Cartwheel list is opened.
**Offer spots—each guest starts with 10 spots on their list. More spots are earned when badges are awarded.
·
**Cartwheel collections—Cartwheel collections are curated lists of offers that make it easy for the guest on the go to add items to her list. The collections are created to support seasonal offerings and categorical offers (grocery, women’s apparel, baby items, etc.). Collections are not comprehensive lists of all offers.

How to: Machine Quilt a Modern Triangle Border

Earlier this week I spent a little time machine quilting this fabulous triangle border on one of my customers quilts.
Right before I got started I got the idea to share a little Instagram tutorial as I went. It was so fun I thought I'd share those pictures over here so I'd have them all together in one place.

Buckle Up - A Modern One-Block Quilt

Kathleen and I are pretty excited to share Buckle Up, the 6th quilt in Modern One-Block Quilts.
My kids have already taken claim to this fun baby version of Buckle Up, I can't be mad, I think their little cars are pretty adorable on this quilt. :)
We had a lot of fun making this "scrappy" version of Buckle Up, this version features Road 15 and Reunion fabrics by Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics. Honestly, I'm now contemplating re-doing my little boy's bedroom in black white and gray, that's how much I love this color combo.
The Buckle Up pattern from Modern One-Block Quilts comes in three sizes, Baby 47"x47", Throw 63"x63" and Coverlet 95"x95"
The original version of Buckle Up was made in the Coverlet size and the quilt features Mod Basics by Birch Fabrics and Avalon by Jay-Cyn for Birch Fabrics.
A few fun details:

**Batting used is Quilters Dream Poly Select.

**Signed copies of Modern One-Block Quilts are available for purchase here.

Block of the Month - Lisa's Version

Yesterday I spent the day machine quilting this beautiful quilt for Lisa, she made most of the blocks as a part of the Fat Quarter Shop's  2012 designer mystery quilt. After she made the blocks she decided that she wanted to quilt bigger, so she made more blocks and put the quilt together in this setting. I love what she's done with this quilt.
When Lisa brought me her quilt and told me she wanted custom machine quilting, I knew exactly what needed to go in all that white space, feathers. Lots and lots of feathers. Have I mentioned before that I kinda LOVE feathers!
As I was machine quilting this quilt I shared a couple pictures over on Instagram, seriously, thank you all so much for your support over there. The positive comments and likes make me so happy and encouraged!

Postage Stamp Quilt

MaryAnn pieced this darling Postage Stamp Quilt in a quilt-along with Rachel a while back. Don't you just love the look of these scrappy quilts! and....they are a great use of Jelly Rolls!
MaryAnn sent me her quilt and asked me to machine quilt this all over swirly-pebble type pattern, I had machine quilted one of her quilts a while back with this same pattern and she loved it, so why not use the same pattern. :)
While I was machine quilting this quilt the afternoon sun was shining in my studio and right on her quilt just perfectly. I think that afternoon sun, showing off texture on quilts is the highlight of each day!

Thanks for letting me machine quilt your adorable quilt MaryAnn!

Have a great Monday!

Flying Geese

Cheryl pieced and appliqued the is adorable Flying Geese quilt, I love what the applique adds to the quilt!
Cheryl asked me to machine quilt this fun quilt with an all over feathery type pattern.
The pattern that we chose has a fun little swirl and feather, it's such a soft elegant pattern, yet so subtle.
Cheryl is going to scallop those large outer borders, it's going to be adorable when she's done!

Thanks for letting me machine quilt another one of your adorable quilts Cheryl!

Love Patchwork & Quilting Magazine

Kathleen and I are pretty excited about this new issue of Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine, for a few reasons. First of all, if you haven't picked up this magazine I'd highly recommend it, it's full of beautiful quilts and wonderful eye-candy......and we have a new quilt pattern in this issue. Yah, we're pretty excited!
Churned- originally appears in our new book, Modern One-Block quilts, but is making it's second appearance in this magazine.
Churned is a fun modern version of a traditional Churn Dash quilt, super fun and happy quilt.

You can pick up a copy of Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine.

Applique Quilt

Cheryl made this beautiful applique quilt, yes it's all turned applique. Awesome!
Cheryl sent me her quilt and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her, she wanted echo quilting around the applique.
So, that's exactly how I machine quilted it, and added in a few feathers, I love feathers. :)

Thanks for letting me machine quilt your fun quilt Cheryl!

Round and Round

Last week I machine quilted this darling Round and Round quilt for Donna. I've machine quilted several of Donna's quilts over the years and they are always such a joy!
When I asked Donna how she'd like her quilt to be quilted she quickly came up with the idea to quilt it just like our Colored Candies quilt I shared last week. I was so dang excited that she chose to use that pattern, I loved it on the Colored Candies and I think I love it even more on her quilt!

Thanks for letting me have fun machine quilting your adorable quilt Donna!

Happy Monday everyone!
