Red & White Block Exchange Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner

Last week, before I headed to Texas I was able to spend a few days custom machine quilting this awesome quilt for Kira!

Kira and the ladies in her Modern Quilt Guild made red and white blocks and then exchanged blocks. Each lady then put their blocks together in different settings. Kira chose to add a lot of negative, white background to her quilt and put the block together on an angle through the block. I really love the creativity that she used in the setting.

When Kira brought her quilt to me and asked me to custom machine quilt it for her she pretty much gave me free-reign to quilt it as I pleased. She did have the idea to quilt in some ghost blocks.
So, I machine quilted in some ghost blocks along the sides of the pieced red and white blocks, with a few triangles and other block pieces floating in the background. I really love how it turned out.
Thanks for letting me custom quilt your adorable quilt Kira!

For this quilt I used one layer of Quilters Dream Poly Deluxe Batting and machine quilted it with So Fine! by Superior Threads in the top and Bottom Line by Superior Threads in the bobbin.
