One of my ultimate goals/dreams in life has for several years been the goal of becoming a fabric designer. This year my husband and I have set some pretty hefty goals for ourselves and our family. We wrote them down and hung them on our bathroom wall, somewhere where we'd see them every day and and not lose sight of what we wanted to accomplish.
One of my goals is to learn to design fabric on my computer. Right away I signed up for and started taking some design classes. I'm loving spending my free time creating in a way that I have never been able to before. :)
This week's assignment in my design class was to design a scarf. I don't wear scarves so for some reason this seemed totally out of my element. But, I had fun with it.
I designed 2 different scarves.
Don't judge me too harshly, I'm still learning. :)
They're beautiful - lovely rhythm to them…
ReplyDeleteGood for you for going after it!
Especially liking the top one with the white swirls and the greenery--great combination of shapes. Keep on keeping on-design every day.
ReplyDeleteLooking great! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the top one but they are both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a fantastic job, they look great.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun! They look wonderful! I am so jealous!
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible goal!! You can totally do it and I know you will be fantastic!! You are just such a creative person!! I love the grey scarf!! I would buy it :) Looking forward to all of your upcoming projects :)
ReplyDeleteGood job. Good luck with your dreams and they are always achievable with hard work, which you do plenty of! So excellent work!
ReplyDeleteThey are both fabulous! You are well on your way!
ReplyDeleteStefanie
I seriously like them both but the dotty one makes me smile...looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do next!
Great designs, especially the top scarf. Your are doing great, keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHave a super great sewing, stitching, and designing day!
Love both designs. Keep designing....we will see your fabric on the shelf soon.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I think you have a serious leg up being a quilter from a family of quilters. I can tell from a fabric line if the designer doesn't really quilt. They never seem to think about having a cool binding print, having a fun backing, and mixing up the values/scales enough. The people who actually quilt make THE BEST fabric lines!
ReplyDeleteGood Job!! I have been working on the same goal for a little over a year. It is a fun process :) Keep up the good work. PS - it is good to have goals and whisper what they are every once in awhile :)
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me where you are taking classes and what classes are you taking. This is also one of my goals and I am just not sure where to start. You are doing such an awesome job keep up the great work you can do it!
