Year of Machine Quilting - Free Motion Feathers

Feathers, feathers, feathers, who doesn't love feathers?!?!
A week or so ago I shared my thoughts about feathers, how I used to be scared to death of them, now they are one of my best friends. When I started machine quilting feathers I came up with my own technique, a way totally backwards from the way most machine quilters quilt feathers.
This month, is lesson 5, in the year long series, Year of Machine Quilting with Quiltmaker Magazine, I'm sharing a few feather ideas. I love feathers and I hope this month you find some inspiration from my feathers!

For more ideas and more feather inspiration check out my book, Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting.
Hope you're all having a great week. we celebrate Pioneer Day here in Utah on the 24th so it's a shorter work week. :)

  2. I've only practiced feathers twice, but I can see a big difference from the first time to the second. I'll have to get my daughter to pick this issue up for me. Mags up here are pretty pricey, IF you can find them!! I'll bet it's a great article.
