Patti made this adorable modern, improv style log cabin quilt. When Patti brought it to me for some machine quilting she really didn't have anything in particular in mind for the machine quilting, she just really loves feathers. Me too!
I knew that I wanted to give the quilt a custom feel, but not take away too much from the quilt.
So, I decided to break the border down into three borders and quilt feathers in two of the borders, then add a fun geometric ghost block in the negative space between the smaller log cabin blocks. I love the cool border that they create.
In the body of the quilt I decided to alternate feather blocks and geometric spiral blocks, bring the designs I machine quilted in the borders into the center, tying the quilt together.
I really love how this quilt turned out! Thanks for letting me quilt for you Patti!
