Cheryl made this darling Mixing It Up quilt and sent it to me for some custom machine quilting. I love this quilt and knew that it needed some fun quilting to really make those mixers and spatulas come to life.
In all of the white background I machine quilted Swirly Feathers, I teach this pattern, step-by-step in my book; Next Steps in Machine Quilting. Then in all of the mixers I did some ruler work combined with some free-motion quilting.
In the border I decided that it would be fun to go with the fabric, so I machine quilted cross-hatching, it seems so perfect with this fun quilt.
Pattern for this fun quilt is Mixing it Up by Lori Holt
Thanks for letting me machine quilt your beautiful quilt Cheryl!

ReplyDeleteSuch great blocks, and your quilting is perfection! FYI, I have that issue of Modern Patchwork and this pattern is not in there. Perhaps it's in a different magazine?
