MaryAnn pieced this beautiful giant star quilt and sent it to me for some custom machine quilting. I've machine quilted several quilts for MaryAnn over the years and for some crazy reason, even though we both love feathers, I've never quilted feathers on any of her quilts. So, I knew when I saw this quilt that I finally was going to quilt some feathers on one of her quilts, along with some fun ruler work. :)
I used my 4-N-1 machine quilting ruler and after a bit of marking I went to town custom machine quilting this beautiful quilt.
I just love how this quilt turned out. Because the quilt is made with prints the machine quilting becomes the secondary pattern, and I love that. I love that the piecing is still the focal.
I did change thread colors on this quilt to match the blue, white and green prints.

I wish you had posted a pix of the finished quilt instead of only sections.
ReplyDeleteMAybe that first picture was the finished quilt, but if so you can't see any quilting in the star.
