Modern Building Blocks - Red & White Version - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner
If you've been following Sheri from A Quilting Life you probably already have seen this gorgeous quilt in the works.
Over the last several months Sherri has been making the very popular Moda Modern Building Blocks Quilt in all red and white fabrics. I'm sure most of us feel the same, but there is just something so classy and timeless about red and white quilts, and this one is no exception, it's gorgeous.

Introducing - Next Steps In Machine Quilting
I guess maybe today I'll spill the beans..... Next Steps in Machine Quilting, will be in stores in December. I'm pretty excited about this book, it's a companion to my very first book; Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting.
I've been wrestling around with this idea since Beginner's Guide was published, back in 2012. The timing just didn't feel right. Finally last fall I felt like it was right and I began writing. I hope you'll love this one as much as you've loved Beginner's Guide.
Next Steps in Machine Quilting is available for pre-order here.

I will be teaching machine quilting classes at Road to California, in January, 2016. There are still openings in my Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting class on Monday and Tuesday and a couple of spots left in my Next Steps in Machine Quilting Class on Wednesday (update, Next Steps to Machine Quilting is sold out.)

Fractal - A Mini Table Topper
I am pretty sure I'm a pretty simple sewist. I like to keep things simple, ya know, straight seams, half square triangles, things that I think are more simple. Y seams, and partial seams have always scared me to death, maybe because I haven't really ever sewn them.
Kimberly and the girls over at Fat Quarter Shop have teamed up with Art Gallery Fabrics, creating AGF Stitched with Kimberly, and come up with an adorable new pattern, Fractal. The cutting is done using the Creative Grids Kites Plus Ruler, and it's actually way easier than I would have ever imagined.

Dazzle - Cabin Fever: 20 Modern Log Cabin Quilts
Pull your favorite scraps or an interesting fat quarter bundle to make this fabulous quilt. Fabric choice is key; be sure there is a lot of contrast between the dark and light fabrics to really make the pattern pop!
Another week has passed, so it's time to introduce you to another one of our new patterns from; Cabin Fever: 20 Modern Log Cabin Quilts.

Ferris Wheel Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner
Lori made this fun Ferris Wheel quilt. It's such a fun quilt, with a lot of piecing and a little bit of applique!
When Lori mailed me this quilt she asked me to custom machine quilt it for her, She liked how I had machine quilted Jan's Ferris Wheel quilt a year or so ago and asked if I'd quilt hers the same. I loved how I had quilted Jan's so I was more than happy to quilt Lori's the same!

Paper Pieced Star Quilt - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner
Ann made this gorgeous star quilt. She brought it to me for some custom machine quilting. Ann told me to custom machine quilt it as if it were my own, she wanted a more modern feel. Because I love feathers, and straight lines, and I had the go-ahead to machine quilt it as if it were my own, that's what I chose to quilt, feathers and straight lines!

Stacked Up - Cabin Fever: 20 Modern Log Cabin Quilts
I've been having so much fun introducing you to the quilts in our book; Cabin Fever: 20 Modern Log Cabin Quilts. I get so excited and can't wait each week to share another. Luckily there are 20 quilts in the book so I can keep sharing for quite a while!
This fun quilt is Stacked Up. Stacked Up is a cool variation of a Log Cabin quilt block. Fabric placement is key in this quilt, giving the quilt the look of blocks stacked on each other.

Over the River - Custom Machine Quilting by Natalia Bonner
Barbara made this adorable Over the River quilt. I always have to smile a little when I machine quilt winter quilts in July! :)
When Barbara sent me this adorable quilt she asked me to custom machine quilt it for her. I have quilted a couple of these adorable quilts in the past and they've been so much fun, it's a great pattern.
