AGF Stitched with Kimberly - Timber - A Free Quilt Pattern

My friends over at Fat Quarter Shop have teamed up with the fabulous designers from Art Gallery Fabrics and created an adorable new quilt pattern, Timber.

I was able to test the pattern for Kimberly and, I just have to say, I was a little bit worried about this quilt, it looked like it was going to be quite time consuming. Let me just tell you, it wasn't! This quilt went together so quickly!

When I was playing around taking pictures of the quilt top I hung it in my backyard, obviously it was way too bright outside, but I thought this picture still ended up pretty cool!

Kimberly's original version of Timber is pretty scrappy, those of you that know me well know that scrappy is totally out of my comfort zone. I really love simple two or three color quilts. But, I do like to push myself out of my comfort zone, a little bit, and try new patterns.

I love how the secondary pattern really comes to life in this quilt. There is something so cool, yet a bit deceiving about secondary patterns, I love that they kind of trick the brain!

Kimberly and the team over at Fat Quarter Shop have created a fabulous YouTube video to go along with the free pattern for this quilt, you can check it out below.

You can download the pattern for free here.

When I pieced my version of Timber I sewed one colorway at a time. I actually cut and then pieced each colorway as I went. I could have probably moved a little bit quicker though the piecing but I didn't want to risk confusing myself.

Check out Fat Quarter Shop's blog for more Timber quilt inspiration and check out some of my friends that also pieced this fun Timber Quilt.
