Star Quilt {Eight Pointed Star}


Eight Pointed Star
Cutting:
From your background fabric cut 4 - 4 1/2"x4 1/2" squares
4 - 4 7/8"x4 7/8" squares
From your dark print cut 1 - 4 1/2"x4 1/2" square
4 - 5 3/8"x2 3/8" rectangles
Lay the four rectangles on top of each other, two right side up and two wrong side up, cut them in half diagonally as shown in the image above.
Now take your 4 - 4 /78" squares and fold them in half, cut them diagonally as shown in the image above.
You should have 4 background triangles like the one above.
Sew the dark print triangles onto your background triangles to create 4 blocks as shown in the image above.
Sew together in three rows and there is your Eight Pointed Star.
