I am so beyond excited and flattered today to share our quilt today! Seriously, how huge of a compliment is it to have a quilt in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, yes I'm blushing! :)

Kathleen and I designed this quilt, Summer Still Life, a few years back, it's still one of our very most favorite designs ever. We just love the crisp, freshness of it.
Summer Still Life quilt & pattern is featured in the August 2013 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. Be sure to check out the pattern and photos, the staff over at American Patchwork & Quilting did an awesome job putting it together!

A fun fact about this quilt: this quilt was the first time I did a double batt when machine quilting, the quilt has one layer of Hobbs 80/20 batting and one layer of Quilters Dream Wool batting, so it has some really awesome texture and is also super heavy!

Another fun fact, for those of you that know me know how much I strongly dislike turning my applique, well, the applique on this quilt is all turned! :) But still sewn on by machine.

  5. Congratulations! That is a beautiful quilt, I love the idea of making a pieced quilt and adding an applique in the corner, thinking that would be nice for some baby quilts too.

  10. Hi Nathalia, overwhelmed by the beauty on your website, what a lovely quilt is the one above, congratulations! What a talented quilter and designer you are! Just 2 weeks ago I found your website and went from page to page, and the photo of your Christmas quilt gave me inspiration; I had these lovely marble precuts, and today I finished the top (220x 180 cm, photo's at my blog), I added a border, so it's not a copy of your quilt, but the inspiration came from you, thanks! I want to quilt it on my Bernina QE, and using a woolen batting, or silk, not sure yet.
