Bringing My Childhood to My Children

As a child I remember going to my grandparents' home and watching our favorite Disney movies on VHS (many of them were in black and white!). Now that I've grown up (well, I'm supposed to be a grown up), I've tried to bring a lot of things from my childhood to my children. Although we don't have a VHS player we do have a DVD & Blu-ray player and my kids really love to watch Disney movies.

Last week my kids had the opportunity to pre-view The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which is coming out for the first time on Blu-ray Combo Pack and HD digital. My kids aren't always the best at sitting still and watching movies, but they LOVED Winnie the Pooh and they both sat still and watched for an hour and a half!
For the first time on August 27th you can experience the friendship, imagination and adventure of the Hundred Acre Woods when all of your favorite characters come alive in this timeless motion picture.
To learn more you can visit Disney's website or follow Winnie the Pooh on Facebook!
Now, to enter for a chance to win a $50 Visa Gift Card and a Winnie The Pooh Blu-ray Combo Pack, share with us the importance of friendship, imagination and adventure in your child's life...

  1. My boys are twins, so their friendship will be (hopefully) strong. They are just 15 months old, so it's hard to tell right now, but I can already see the seeds of it: sharing toys willingly, adorable sloppy baby kisses, laughing with each other. I can't wait to see it develop as they do.

  6. We have always been a Pooh loving family! I read aloud to the kids every day and Pooh was a favorite. I could do all the voices of the characters. I think friendship and adventure and imagination go hand in hand and Pooh does a wonderful job of teaching that to children. We will never outgrow Pooh - he's timeless. :)

  11. We have always taught our children that their brothers and sisters will always be their best friends if they treat them as good as their own friends and they are finding this to be true as they grow older. They love doing things together.

  12. I don't have children but I love the way Disney promotes a child's adventure and imagination. A friend of mine borrowed a couple of my kitties to try and run some mice out of her house. After my husband and I came to pick the cats up, my friend messaged me and said that for about an hour after we left, my friend and her husband became me and my husband and her two kids were my two kitties. I love this! I love watching a child's imagination run wild and to see where that imagine takes them. One of the things on my bucket list is to own as many Disney movies as I possibly can!

  14. There is nothing I love more than to hear my kids talk and laugh about things that they do together, talking excitedly about the made-up games they play, remembering adventures they had "when they were small" (they are only 12, 10, and 8). I am grateful that they make so many memories together and that we have the chance to share so much time as a family. Their siblings are their best friends. I also think that reading and watching good things has helped their imaginations to grow. Thank you to books like Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Prydain Series, Little House on the Prairie, The Secret Garden (and to so many good movies from Disney.)
