Don't be negative!

I try not to ever be negative on my blog.
This is a place to be inspired, to be uplifted and to make my desire to create grow.
However, today, my desire is gone!
Yesterday I taught a class of about 100 School teachers and 4-H advisers. After the class was over I let them come up and look at my quilts and purchase quilt kits if they wanted to. (This was after I had given each of them a pattern for free) When it came time to clean up I noticed that two of my quilt kits were missing. That's right 2 QUILT KITS WERE STOLEN FROM ME BY SCHOOL TEACHERS!!!!
How rude is that!
These are ladies who are educating our children and they have no more morals than to steal a quilt kit.
Okay, I'm done ranting, Karma is a bad thing and some day, hopefully every day they see the cute quilt that they made from a stolen quilt kit will haunt them!

Hope you have a happy weekend! :)

Back to reality {I do love my reality}

Even though I've been home for three days now it's taken me until now to catch up on my sleep and get back into my "normal" routine.
I've been busy quilting and helping Kathleen piece her next McCalls Quilt Design Star challenge quilt, I can't wait until next week when I can share what she has created, it is beautiful!
Anyways, here are a few of the quilts that I've finished since I've been back.
A Buggy Barn Star Quilt and I machine quilted feathers over the whole quilt.
A Hushaby quilt and I machine quilted an all over design.
A cute Dick & Jane quilt that I machine quilted circles all over.
The back of this quilt really showed off the cute circles.
Today I am headed to Park City, UT to teach.
I always get so nervous before I teach, I told Kathleen that I'm just going to go without my glasses, then I won't be able to see anyone and maybe I won't get so nervous!

Quilt Market Recap {post #2}

Quilt Market day two held some very exciting events!
I first got to meet one of my idols, the amazing Kate Spain.
Kate was introducing her new line Central Park, it's darling, and she is too!
I've already made one quilt from Central Park and I hope to make more!
Then I headed over to the Moda booth.
The very most exciting part was their notions & patterns.
Those are my patterns!
Yes, my new patterns that will ship December 1st and Moda / United Notions has picked them up!
I should have been jumping up and down in the booth because I was so excited!
You can preorder your pattern on our website.
I loved this quilt made from hexagons, I'm really loving hexagons right now.
I forgot to share this picture yesterday, this is the AMAZING Shari of Doohikey Designs with her cute Hooty Hoot Kangaroo and the quilts that I quilted for her.
I guess I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I did but it was an awesome experience.
Some other highlights include;
I tried to chase down Quilt Dad but he walks too fast
The guys behind Quiltvertiser & Find My Fabric
Linda Taylor and Val (val actually taught me how to use my longarm 3 years ago)
meeting Pat Sloan & getting a signed copy of her new book
The Wooly Lady (one of my favorite booths)
Learning how to actually use my Bernina
attending the Moda party at Minute Maid Stadium & then riding back to our hotel on a little bike contraption
visiting family who live in Houston

Most of all it was fun to spend time with my mom and two sisters!

Quilt Market Recap {Post #1}

I had the opportunity to spend the past weekend in Houston, Texas at International Quilt Market. This was my first time to attend and if you ask Krachel I looked like a kid in a candy store!
{Day 1}
I flew into Houston early on Saturday.
Krachel & Kathleen
Whitnee & I
 Our shuttle was late picking us up so we hung out at the airport for 1/2 an hour waiting for it.

I updated my whole journey and followed others on Twitter while there. As I landed in Houston I saw that Ty Pennington was there with his new fabric and I totally missed him! DANG!
I did stop by his booth and I think his fabric is beautiful for home decor!
Next I headed over to find the AMAZING Pat Sloan.
I've become friends with Pat through her blog and she is an awesome lady! She is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog.
I was also able to score a copy of Pat's new book. There are some darling applique quilts in this cute book. And it's signed by her! Thanks so much Pat!
Next I headed right over to the Riley Blake booth.
There were a few, okay maybe 5 quilts in that booth that I was ecstatic to see!
This fabric is Hooty Hoot Kangaroo and it was designed by Shari of Doohikey Designs for Riley Blake and I had the opportunity of quilting 5 of the quilts for her!
Next I headed over to the Accuquilt booth. I had to check out the new dies and the new Baby Go!
The baby Go! is so cute and so light but I still love my Go!
Their booth was covered in pink to celebrate this new baby girl Go!
They even had a cute stork!
I was able to buy a couple new dies and I can't wait to use them.

Day one was so exciting but day 2 was full of even more exciting things! I can't wait to share more tomorrow!!!
