1- 7 1/4"x7 1/4" square cut in 1/4ths diagonally
2- 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares cut in 1/2 diagonally

Dark print
4- 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares cut in half diagonally

Red print
1- 4 1/4"x4 1/4" square cut in 1/4ths diagonally

Begin by sewing the small red triangles to the small background triangles. As shown in the image above. You will need 4 of these pieces.

Now sew the medium background triangle to the red and background piece. As shown in the image above. Make four of these.

Sew those four blocks together to make one center pinwheel block.

Sew your dark print triangles to the large background triangles, make four of these flying geese.

Now sew two of the flying geese to two of the sides of the pinwheel block.

Sew the 3 1/2"x3 1/2" squares to the ends of the remaining two flying geese.

Sew the three sections together to create an unfinished 12 1/2"x 12 1/2" Martha Washington's Star.
