Star Quilt {Variable Star Variation}




Variable Star Variation



Cutting:
Dark print
2- 3 7/8"x 3 7/8" squares cut in half diagonally



Blue print
4- 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares cut in half diagonally



Red print
1- 6 1/2"x6 1/2" square



Background 
1- 7 1/4"x7 1/4" square cut in 1/4ths diagonally



2- 3 7/8"x3 7/8" squares cut in half diagonally.



Sew the four dark print and the four background fabric triangles. Making 4 blocks as shown in the image above.



Take your large background triangles and the blue triangles and sew them together making 4 flying geese blocks. As shown in the image above.



Sew the dark print half square triangles to two of the flying geese blocks. As shown in the image above.



Sew the remaining two flying geese blocks to the large red square. As shown in the image above.



Sew the three sections together to create a 12 1/2" unfinished Variable Star Variation block.
