I'm Celebrating!

Today is a day of celebration for a few reasons!

First of all, our families cute little dog just turned 8 years old! Seriously the time goes by so fast! I cannot believe we've already had him for eight years.

Second, this is my 1,000th blog post. I was thinking I should do something exciting and fabulous but it just hasn't happened....

Third, a couple nights ago my little girl was playing with her dolls and she kept telling me that she needed blankets for her dolls, that's something I should totally make for her, but since I haven't ever made any for her I remembered that when I got married my mom gave me all of my old stuff that she had kept, one is a little doll stroller that has a little pillow and a tiny doll quilt. I decided to pull those out and let Chesney play with them.
She loves them! They are perfect size for her dollies and now she can keep them warm.

I had to snap a totally candid picture, but mostly I just wanted to share, that cute little quilt, the one under the bumbo, yes the bumbo that my 4yr old is sitting in is the little doll quilt that my mom made for me about 25 years ago. I'm so glad that it's stayed in such great condition and that my daughter can now play with it.
Also check out what she has in her hands, a little lite brite, did any of you have one of those when you were little, I did, it was big and white and had to be plugged in, but it was cool! Now them make them small and portable and they are still cool!

Okay, time to get back to quilting! I'm working on a few darling projects for Amy that I just can't share yet.

  1. That is great that you still had them, now your daughter can treasure them. My daughter mutilated her dolls, so I gave up, lol.

Ha, our 4 year old daughter will pull out her old Bumbo and sit in it too when the baby isn't using it =) we did the same thing with baby blankets, I found all my old Cabbage Patch doll blankets and pillows, and I love that my daughter wants to use them for her dolls!!! Congrats on our 1,000th post - I adore your blog and look forward to 1,000 more posts. You have helped me start so many amazing projects I never would have attempted!!!

  5. Happy 1,000 post!

I brought out my old toys once and my kids snubbed them lol. My youngest (12) is now getting interested in some of the old board games that I used to play growing up.

I LOVED lite bright growing up. I used to play with that all the time.
